What I'm Wearing: Dress Red Haute | Shirt Red Haute | Shoes Steve Madden

Normally I don't really play with length. I usually keep it short because I'm petite and that's what I know works. But when I found this dress I just fell in love. I kind of just love the odd length of it, and the best part, it's ruched so if I want to I can just pull it up and make it shorter. And then I just threw this shirt over it for a more casual look. (Although my mom gets styling credit for picking out the shirt) I must say, I went shopping the other day and oh my goodness, I cannot wait for fall. Even now I'm picturing this same dress with a long sleeve sweater and some booties, mmm, so perfect. 

Closet Raid

This outfit is a result of my mom saying, "You can take anything from my closet." So immediately I went for this Chanel button necklace she just bought. It's so cool, it's made from an old Chanel button put on a strand of pearls. The second item I took was this sweater, it's just too pretty to pass up, and I'm sad I had to give it back. And then I took my favorite denim shorts and tee and pulled it all together. 

One Of Those Days

Yesterday was just one of those days. The weather was not so great, I was tired, and was not really in the mood to take pictures. The outcome, a comfy-casual outfit, with no makeup (although most days I don't wear makeup anyway), and no jewelry. I do really love this sweatshirt though, it's the perfect throw on piece for those bad weather days. I was going to put on converse, but since I was too lazy to find socks I put on my pointed flats instead. And I must say I like the flats with the outfit. It's laziness at its finest, but it somehow all worked.

A Seasonally Confused Wishlist

Sorry I don't have an outfit post today. But it was way too hot outside this weekend to take 5 outfits worth of pictures. So instead I figured I'd make a wishlist. And what I ended up with is this seasonally confused wishlist. I do love summer, but after a while I just really want fall. I love shorts, but I miss my jeans, and I just want to put on some boots and a jacket. But as you can tell, I'm not totally over summer, I'm still craving more shorts and sandals too. 

Overall Crazy

What I'm Wearing: Overalls ASOS | Tank River Island | Shoes Converse

I really like overalls. They are just so easy to wear. I especially love this pair with the button detailing. And they are now on sale, because everything I buy goes on sale right after I buy it. I swear, this happens all the time. But, whatever. I decided to wear this striped crop top with the overalls, which I really love. I can't wait to work it into more outfits. And then of course some converse finish off this casual look. 

Summer Lovin'

Summer, florals, it's a no brainer. I love the laid back feel of these Free People cut-offs. Then the button down tank with a peter pan collar dresses it back up. And I absolutely love these new sandals. I've had so much trouble finding shoes this summer that don't leave me with beat-up feet. Part of that is probably mother nature's fault, since nothing is comfortable in 90 degree heat. But, anyways, I love this pair because of the color and the allover studs, and so far they're comfortable too. 

Like You Lots, Polka Dots

When all else fails I always seem to end up in black. I love this skirt, I really do think it's a great wardrobe staple. In fact I just wore it again last night for my mom's birthday dinner. (Happy Birthday Mom!) Although, I styled it more similar to this, wearing it with a simple white v-neck and yellow wedges. But back to this outfit. You can't go wrong with some polka dots and Chanel. 

White On Point

With so many people trying it, I thought I'd tackle the all white trend. It's definitely risky, I mean wearing a white shirt anywhere is risk enough, but a whole white outfit? Certainly not something I'd wear out to dinner, but I love the summer chicness of it. I added my new Kurt Geiger pointed flats (a steal at $29, might I add) because pointed toes just add a certain sophistication and they are  very on trend for now and into the fall. And how do you like the title, I like to think I'm very clever. White on point, like right on point...  get it?

Material Girl

What I'm Wearing: Shorts Maje | Bodysuit Urban Outfitters, Similar | Shoes Converse 

I know I already touched on how I found the perfect pair of high-waisted black shorts in Tuesday's post but I thought I'd reiterate. I like how these shorts are a little bit dressier looking so they can be dressed up or dressed down. And I especially love the gray detailing near the side pockets, which you can see in the fourth picture. Today I chose to wear them with a bodysuit. While wearing a lace floral bodysuit made me feel a little like Madonna, I can't deny how easy it is to wear. It's certainly much easier that trying to tuck in a shirt, although it is a totally different look.  

The Cold Shoulder

So clearly this is not a summer day outfit. It's more of a "summer night not during a heatwave when there's actually a slight chill and it's not 95 degrees at 8 at night" outfit. I personally love stripes, and I love how the open shoulder makes this sweatshirt feel more summery. Plus, it's on a pretty good sale, who could pass that up? It's the perfect throw on piece for any summer night.

Tank Dressing

What I'm Wearing: Dress Sandro, Similar, Similar | Shoes Chanel

I will admit, the tank dress is quite the tricky article of clothing. While the large, shapeless t-shirt/tank look gives off a very cool vibe, it also always seems to be right on the line of short and very short. And while, I would wear a dress this length, somehow knowing its really a shirt makes me feel like the tank dress is even shorter than it is. But, I threw on a pair of bike shorts underneath and decided to rock the look anyway. So whether you buy an actual "tank dress" or just size up on a shirt like I did, I think this look is definitely worth a try.

P.S. This is my 100th post, thought that was pretty cool. :)
