Can you believe how ridiculously nice out is was on Saturday? (Which is when I took these pictures) I mean seriously I was outside with three-quarter sleeves and no coat and I wasn't even cold! It was such a tease, but I'll take it. Anyways, I found this dress in my closet which I bought probably two years ago and I'm seriously wondering why I haven't been wearing it all this time. It's so easy to wear and it's versatile. I rolled up the bottom and wore it as a shirt later that day. Two-for-one is always a nice bonus.

I love a monochrome outfit. The way you can mix patterns, shades, and textures all in a singular color is just so fun. So when my mom bought this awesome equipment patterned blouse I knew I had to borrow it for an all gray ensemble. And I must say, I'm very happy with the end result. 

Another Casual Friday

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is nothing better than a good pair of jeans and a comfy sweater. With a few additions, that's basically my winter wardrobe. And since I unofficially made this week handbag week (in my head, I never actually stated that anywhere) I decided to show off my awesome Goyard tote. It's perfect for carrying everything.

Sequin Season

First of all, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas! I enjoyed a typical Jewish Christmas of movies and then trying to find an open restaurant. (We didn't eat Chinese food though, shocking I know.) I saw American Hustle, and I totally recommend seeing it, Jennifer Lawrence was incredible, as was the rest of the cast. But anyways, on to the important stuff. What better time of year is there to wear sequins? I saw this top and immediately thought New Years. But of course, I would probably wear it all year round as well. The sequins make for a total standout moment, but the color blocking keeps it cool. And what party attire is complete without the perfect clutch and some killer shoes? 

Black&Gold

I would love to introduce you to, drumroll please, my new bag. It was love at first sight, and since I'm very impatient and could not wait, this bag became a Hanukkah / extremely early birthday present. And while come June I might be slightly disappointed that I blew through part of my birthday money six months prior, at the moment I could not be happier. That classic shape, the gold hardware, this is a bag that will never go out of style. Which is good, because I'm pretty sure I've blown my pocketbook budget for the rest of eternity, or until I get a really good job. Anyways, while my Saint Laurent bag is definitely always going to be the focal point of any outfit I wear it with, I am still wearing some pretty good clothes too. Like this Equipment blouse, that I found on sale! Nobody does a blouse like Equipment, and nothing is better than finding one of those blouses on sale, because they do not come cheap. 

Classically Plaid

Although I do think I have somewhat of a distinct style, I am always trying new things. And one of my favorite things to do is to mix and match different styles. Because why box yourself in to one style when you can play with all of them? So, for that reason, I decided to mix a classic blazer, with the grunginess of plaid. What it created is, I think, a pretty classically cool look.

Pinstriped

I decided it was time to try the trend that Stella McCartney perfected for fall 2013, pinstripes. Unfortunately, Stella's options for the trend were a little out of my price range, okay a lot out of my price range. But that's why we love stores like Zara, right? That's where I got this awesome pair of pinstripe trousers, which work so perfectly dressed down with just a simple turtleneck. 

Cashmere & Leather

The greatest thing about winter? Easy, cashmere. And this oversized, burgundy, Equipment cashmere is my new go-to sweater to keep snuggly and warm during this ridiculously cold weather. Perfect on its own, even better when dressed up with a button-up underneath. Add suede slip-ons (yes, not ideal when there's snow on the ground but I just love them), and then nothing completes an outfit like leather pants and a slouchy beanie.

I love snow. I know I've been complaining about the cold weather lately, but I really do love winter. I couldn't imagine ever living anywhere where you can't experience all four seasons. And with cold weather comes the fun of winter fashion, or basically throwing on as many pieces of clothing as possible but making it look like it's all done on purpose. So what better than a super cozy sweater complete with zipper details on the back and on the cuffs? Add a plaid blouse underneath for extra warmth, and of course because it looks good as well. Then jeans, boots, done.
