Over the weekend I took a trip to the Brooklyn Museum to see The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. It is an exhibit I highly recommend anyone who has any interest in fashion or just appreciates looking at incredibly made, and just incredible clothing. Not only was the exhibit full of gorgeous pieces from Gaultier's pret-a-porter and haute couture lines, but many of them have never before been on display. And tour outfits from both Madonna and Beyonce were present, which automatically makes the exhibit a must see.
But the absolute coolest part? Almost every mannequin in the exhibit had a moving face courtesy of projectors. And while, yes, it was a bit creepy at first when the models seemed to be staring right at you and possibly giving you some side-eye, it was also one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The mannequins sang, spoke, and some just glanced around. Plus, Jean Paul Gaultier himself was there (in projected form) and he spoke about fashion in both English and French. You can see more photos I took of the exhibit after the jump, but if you can I highly recommend going to see this exhibit in person, it is definitely worth it.
