I think it's pretty well established by now that I have a love, or pretty strong obsession, for all things plaid. So in that case, a perfectly plaid blouse is nothing new or exciting. Although I must say I love the colors of this blouse in particular because the pale pinks and yellow in the print make it perfect for spring. But the exciting part is that I bought it from The Outnet for 65% off. And while Equipment blouses are gorgeous, they do not come cheap, so getting one for more than half off is amazing. The best part, they have tons more styles on the site, plus lots of other brands too. Shop some of my other Equipment picks (all on sale at The Outnet) below:

Checked Out
This coat was another find on last week's magical trip to the front hall closet, and I wish I had known it was sitting there sooner. What better way to add to a simple monochromatic outfit than to throw on a checked coat? It adds something special to the boring old jeans and white blouse combo. Had I known about this coat's existence sooner it would have no doubt made a frequent appearance in my winter wardrobe. Fortunately, though, or unfortunately, there's still time to wear it now.

Gray Stripes
First of all, sorry for the total lack of posts last week. I got sick and my brain turned off and I legitimately just forgot to post. But, anyway, I'm sure everyone can agree with me that spring could not come soon enough. I am so done with winter, all I want to do is buy spring clothes and actually get to wear them. But since there's still snow on the ground I did the next best thing. I took an item from my spring shopping, this Joie striped tank, and I winterized it by adding a turtleneck underneath. And while I do love the look, I'd much prefer to be wearing this tank with a pair of jeans and no coat, or better yet, with some shorts. But until then..

Closet Raid
The end of the season (or more like the never-ending season) blues call for only one thing, taking a trip to someone else's closet. So obviously my first stop was to my mom's closet to borrow this super comfy Theory turtleneck. My second stop, the front hall closet. There I found a surprisingly good collection of coats including this black furry one I'm wearing above (faux, I promise). Other than that my winter staples, AG legging jeans and Zara boots, completed the outfit.

Wanted | Pearls
One trend I am loving for this spring is pearls. I have always loved pearls because I'm a June baby, so the pearl is my birthstone. But I have never loved them as much as I have right now. The classic pearl has been taken and given an edgy twist making them the perfect addition to any outfit. I know I can't wait to get my hands on a few of these pieces. Sophistication with a hint of edge, count me in. Shop my pearly picks below (and one non-pearly pick, oops, but come on a gold zip tie cuff, amazing):

Playing Favorites
I do try to switch up my wardrobe and try to wear new pieces or style old pieces differently, especially as winter drags on, but I am definitely guilty of playing favorites. I find that by the end of the season I'm basically wearing the same thing everyday, and it usually comes down to strictly comfort. So these pieces have been at the center of my wardrobe as of late. I love that these faux leather leggings are so comfortable but they add edge to any outfit. And this Equipment blouse with the black and gold always makes a statement. So it's comfortable, yes, but I always try to stay stylish too.

Boy Meets Girl
What I'm Wearing: Pants Zara, Similar | Blouse Similar | Sweatshirt Zara, Similar | Sneakers Converse | Sunglasses Chanel
Today I've decided to work some of my favorite pieces in a totally different way. I've taken some inspiration from the boys for a look that's pretty different from my usual style. There's something so cool about menswear influenced womenswear though, the slouchy, laid back nature of it all just feels effortless. So to create this look I've taken my pinstripe trousers and paired it with a basic white blouse and Zara's take on a Givenchy sweatshirt. Now, if everything went the way I wanted it to I would have been wearing these with this outfit, but of course they were too narrow for my feet. So while I'm still on the hunt for the next best sneaker, (because let's face it the sneaker trend is everywhere right now) my trusty converse do the job for now.

Black & Blue
Back in September I styled this tee as a dress for the warm weather. Now, five months later, I've taken the same amazing tee and winterized it. Long sleeves layered underneath, black jeans, and boots make this outfit way more appropriate for the snowy weather. I really do love both versions of how I styled this tee, it shows how versatile one article of clothing can be. Which is perfect inspiration for getting through the remaining weeks of winter with a wardrobe thats somewhat tired at this point.

Stripes & Sparkles
What I'm Wearing: Jeans AG Jeans | Sweater Aqua, Similar | Blazer ASOS | Boots Zara | Bag Marc Jacobs Similar
My mom claims I stole this bag from her, but she actually gave it to me to sell and I decided it was way to cute to give up. So I kept it, which is obviously not stealing. But the important part is that the bag is now mine. I love how a sequined bag adds such a statement to a simple outfit. Definitely an unexpected statement piece and I love it.

Incognito
I've previously expressed my recent love for all things camo, here, but this shirt (that's not even mine, it's actually my mom's) reaffirmed that love. Unlike all the items in my previous post, this shirt really takes a modern approach to camouflage. The pixelated print combined with the cool mix of colors and an effortless shape makes this shirt an instant hit with me. And of course I just wanted to keep it casual in a good pair of jeans and some comfy slip-ons.

Navy & Grey
Well it's officially time for the dead of the winter blues, literally. And with yet another snow storm yesterday, I am so ready for the sun to come back. Unfortunately, the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter, so digging through my closet for more items to layer it is. This outfit was kind of a happy accident. I (re)found this tee in the back of my closet and knew I wanted to wear it. Not wanting to go the easy route and just through on a jacket, I decided to throw on a turtleneck instead. And navy blue and grey is always a winning combo in my book.
